The 2022 Youth Cup champion officially belongs to the Selangor U19 Team after beating Sri Pahang FC 2-1 on aggregate at the MP Temerloh Stadium yesterday.

This young Selangor team managed to confirm the championship with a goal from Amirul Haziq's free kick in the 67th minute of the match even though Sri Pahang was able to score their first goal after that.

Overall Selangor U19's record in the 2022 Youth Cup, this team has won 12 matches, four draws and two defeats out of 18 matches with 21 goals scored. In addition, Khairil Zain, player of jersey number 11, one of the main players of this team has scored 12 goals thus making him the Top Scorer for this season.

According to Head Coach of Selangor U19, Firdaus Tan, the fighting spirit for each other is one of the factors of winning the Piala Belia 2022 championship.

"First of all, I am grateful to Allah for giving us the award to win the Piala Belia 2022. Alhamdulillah, a well-deserved victory for my players because they have performed brilliantly throughout this competition.”

“As we know, tacticals are one of the important things in football but the spirit of fighting together surpasses everything. Honestly we are like a big family not just a team. On the field we can see the players playing for each other like a family. This is our strength.”

"For me, from the beginning of this competition until now, I am very satisfied with the commitment that these players have given. As a result of their hard work, we won the Piala Belia this season," said Firdaus Tan during an interview after the Final 2 Piala Belia 2022 match ended.

The Man of The Match of the Second Final of the Youth Cup 2022, Amirul Haziq was happy to score the goal that brought victory to his team.

"I am incredibly happy to score that goal. To be honest, I did not expect it to be a goal, but i was lucky. My teammates have also given one hundred percent energy on the field. Guard the goal, run and play our heart out. Alhamdulillah we are champions this year.

I want to thank my teammates, officials, coaching staff and my family who have always supported me since the beginning of the season," said Amirul Haziq.
